Welcome to Media Writing and what is the first LSU class for many of you. Media Writing will be one of your most memorable classes at the Manship School (in a good way) because the friends you make here will remain your friends and colleagues for life.

Media writing is foundational to your career in mass communication. You’ll say “I don’t have to write. I’m in broadcast journalism.” Hmmm. We’ll talk about that later.

Your first day of class is the first day of your career as a media professional. My goal is to see that you are rich, famous and likable, so let’s get started. (And NO texting in class.)
